Betsy Jonker keramik
Betsy Jonker is a potter who was born in the Netherlands and lives on a small farm in the picturesque village of Sunnemo, in middle Sweden. An old barn now houses her ceramics studio and shop, where she presents her entire collection of mugs, bowls, vases and other functional pottery. She also sells exclusive sheepskins and mill spun wool from her own sheep. During the summer, the shop is open most days.
In her work, Betsy always seeks a balanced design. Her designs are mostly minimalistic with simple, strong, clean lines. She works with various types of stoneware clay and finds it important that the natural character of the clay remains exposed, so she leaves the objects partially unglazed. Her work features vibrant glazes she makes herself, which adds to its unique charm.
